The Thracian Meteora is a relatively little-known yet spectacular rocky landscape of natural beauty north of Iasmos, nestled between the abandoned villages of Astraia, Polyarno and Efthymo.

The name “Thracian Meteora” describes an impressive formation of rocky hills reminiscent of the famous Meteora in Thessaly, though on a smaller scale and with a unique character of their own.

A secluded natural paradise where mountains and time meet, with geological formations that tell the story of the Earth and deserted villages whose memories still linger in the air.

The area’s distinctive terrain offers remarkable scenery, making it ideal for hiking and exploration. It provides a sanctuary for rare bird species, such as Egyptian vultures, and breathtaking views at every turn.

The E6 trail invites the adventurous to discover it.
